On average more than 60,000 vehicles a day travel through this location and there have been 21 crashes between 2012 and 2016, causing 24 casualties.
The former State Labor Government promised us this problem would be fixed. Yet there was no specific allocation in their last budget and only an ‘artists impression’ had been released.
The solution
As your Federal and State Liberal team in the South, we are committed to getting this intersection fixed, increasing traffic flow, easing congestion and improving safety. We want to ensure this project is delivered as quickly as possible, but there is still a lot of work to be done.
It’s time for action. We need:
- proper community consultation so our local community can have their say about the plans;
- a final masterplan with detailed costings; and
- to secure full funding for the project
